Acting Classes Getting New Life

January 3rd, 2007 at 09:58pm brian

The Prague Playhouse acting classes are taking on a new life. Moving to Mondays and Wednesdays, the class is going to start looking much more like a rehearsal with scene work and working towards producing a play. We are interested in getting a core group of people together who will rehearse and study. The core group will encourage others to participate. The classes will still be in Czech and in English, but if there is a great response we might move to separate classes for people who aren’t bi-lingual.

Anyone who’s interested should give send me an sms to 608 577 012.

    Hello,

    Your classes sound great!

I am an art student (at School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) interested in studying dance and acting intensively in Prague during the summer of 2007.

I am in the graduate-student age range.

I am writing to you because I am not able to SMS at the moment (I’m in the U.S. now). Could you tell me anything about your summer plans or perhaps make me a quick referral to any educational theater or location for adult acting classes?

I look forward eagerly to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,
    Laura Keefe

    Laura,

Thanks for getting in touch! Our classes are year-round, so you’d be more than welcome to come and check it out. We handle mostly adults (grad-school counts, contrary to popular belief), so you should be in the right age range. Other than us, there are some classes at Prague Center for continuing education, but I hear those are pretty bad.

In terms of Educational theater, you might want to check on the Bear theater (there’s a link on the Prague Playhouse site under theater groups). They’re the only ones I know who are doing educational stuff on a continuing basis.

Thanks for writing and I look forward to seeing you!
