About

The Prague Playhouse is dedicated to promoting English language theater arts in Prague. We got our start at the beginning of 2003 with the successful production of American Evening, a set of short plays from American playwrights. Around that time we also started teaching Meisner classes as a way to raise the bar of acting in Prague. Since 2003, the Prague Playhouse has had a hand in many productions, although recently things started picking up steam.

We started working with The Prague Post on their Playwriting Contest, overseeing the production end of things. The increased visibility of the project really brought a lot of people to us who were eager to work on projects. We have high hopes for the coming year as we will really start to plan around a season, giving everyone (from the participants to audience members to media) a solid and continuous exposure to English-language theater.

This website is about connecting participants, audience and producers in the Prague acting community. In addition to providing a way for everyone to stay on top of projects that are taking place, the site provide much needed directories of resources for actors, directors, artists and others.

We would love for you to get involved! A great way to start is to leave comments on the blog posts. You can also send me an sms at (+420) 608 577 012.

    Hello Brian,

I’ve recently performed a one-man version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in San Francisco. The show received rave reviews and I
received the Bay Area Theatre Critic’s Award. See more info at:

I’d like to perform this show this winter season in Prague. I used to live in Prague and Bratislava so I speak the language and would love the opportunity to bring this classic story there. I’d like to find out more information on if this is possible at the Prague Playhouse
and any details I might need to arrange. I’ve already arranged to perform the show in late November in Bratislava as part of their
    International Theatre Festival.

    Thank you!
