Senay,
I’m not sure exactly what you mean… we don’t offer a casting course. If you’re looking for Nancy Bishop’s course, you can check her website (www.nancybishopcasting.com) and she has a list of when and where she’ll be doing her course.
Sincerely,
brian caspe

I have a degree in creative writing and drama, and have recently had one of my plays performed at a local theatre to raise money for charity. I would be interested in any opportunities you have both for writing and acting. Hoping to hear from you soon, Emma Hewitt

My name is Jihad Abdo. I am a successful Syrian actor, and I have performed in several Syrian shows.
Recently, I performed in the multinational film “Valley of the wolves” (2006 ) with my friend Gassan Massoud who played Saladin in the movie Kingdom of Haven. and Billy zein and other American actors.
Though I am enjoying pleasant success in the middle east, I am hoping to continue acting in other films, or TV. Shows like this all over the world.
I have heard about you, and about your great business, and I believe I have certain skills and experiences that you would be interested in.
Please contact me, or let me know if there is something you can help me with. I will put the link to my website.
Thank you

Hi. My name is James Bridekirk. I am an Actor/Presenter. It is a posability that I may move to Prague as my partner is Czech. I have had a pretty good career acting and presenting in both the UK and Australia. I love my partner but have concerns about having to give up my career in Prague. My main questions are 1) Are there agents for English speaking performers in Prague for both Theatre and TV/Film. 2) Is there any expat tv programs run by either Czech or expat companies.
I suppose what I’m saying is, do you think english speaking actors/presentors can have a career and earn a living in Prague. I hope your answer is yes as I am looking forward to making Prague my new home.
9. brian | July 21st, 2008 at 18:54
Hi James,
Thanks for your comment. The short answer is: it depends. I have been living off of what I make doing TV commercials and Films for the past 6 years. It is currently VERY slow as the Czech currency is ultra high and there are no tax incentives to encourage foreign production to come into the country.
There are a few (maybe 20 or so) native English speaking actors who live mostly from what they make from acting. Others teach English or have other arrangements to make ends meet. It certainly is harder to make a living now than it was even a year ago.
There are agents who work with English speakers. The Czech republic doesn’t really have “conflict of interest” rules which means that most of the agents cast projects and most of the casting directors represent the actors they cast in things. It’s a little bit confusing and very unethical (or at least it has a high potential for unethical behavior). They will take on new actors but most of the auditions here are cattle calls (based on type but no one really gate-keeps).
There are very few calls for foreigners for Czech TV shows and most of those require working knowledge of Czech. I haven’t gotten into Czech Theater (I run the Prague Playhouse where we’re getting into producing theater in English on a community/not for profit scale) but it doesn’t pay very much.
So. Should you come? I don’t know. There are benefits to living here but I can’t wholeheartedly say that you’re guaranteed to get work…A good idea might be to come for a month or so and check it out. There’s no harm in that….
Hope that somewhat gives you a better idea of what it’s like

Dear Brian,
I am currently studying the Meisner technique as a Dramatic Arts major at Cleveland State University. I came across your playhouse while searching for study abroad programs in Prague. After finding many expensive programs I have decided to create my own study abroad program with the help of the Chairman of the department here at CSU. I would like to spend some time in Prague studying theatre and your playhouse seems like it could be an extrodinary place to learn. My tenative plans are to visit Europe beginning in January. I am curious as to when you will be holding classes and if studying with you for a short time is even possible? If you have any other advice or suggestions please feel free to interject. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best Regards,
Randy Muchowski

Hello, my name is Camille. I have been reading the Narnia books ever since I was little. I have always imagined being Jill Pole in The Silver Chair and The Last Battle. I have some experience in acting, including being the main character in a school play, and experience in motion pictures. I currently reside in Arizona, and am 12 years old. ( As of December 31,2008 ) If you are interested, I’d really appreciate an e-mail or something of that sort.
P.S. I have a really good English accent.

Hello, my name is Camille. I am 12 years old, almost 13, and I would really love to be in a Narnia movie. I have brown hair, a few freckles, and blue/gray/green eyes. I have experience in acting, both in plays and motion pictures, and would love to be considered as a Jill Pole. Ever since I was really little, I have always wanted to be an actress. The people I work with on my drama team say I’m a natural on camera. If you would tell me that you’re interested, I would be the happiest person alive.

Hello
My name is Levi Meaden and I’m shooting a short student film at the Prague Film School. I’m looking for an older actor to play the role of Dr. Watson a sort of cosmic bounty hunter in a fantastical reality defying short. I was wondering if there was anyways I could get the contact info for Peter Maivald. A teacher of mine attended a recent show and informed me he might be good for the role. Please if I can get any information it would be much obliged. Thank you.
