The PHILANTHROPIST

Nancy Bishop has just announced that the NBC series The Philanthropist starring James Purefoy (who was here earlier this year shooting Solomon Kane) will be shooting in Prague in January and February. There doesn’t seem to be much for native English speakers yet, but those of you who are interested should check out the breakdown she posted on her site. It’s good news in what has been a fairly bleak time in Hollywood projects coming to Prague. Is it the start of a trend?

Thanks for Auditioning

I just wanted to post a quick note to thank all those that came out to audition for Glengarry Glen Ross last night. I thought the process was very organic and I saw some very good choices. It’s going to be tough to narrow it down! I still have some people to see so I won’t make a final cast announcement until the weekend. I would encourage everyone who wants to be involved in the play to step into a production role (there’s still plenty to do even if you aren’t in the cast!). Please send me an email if you’d like to get involved!

The Bear Educational Theatre Is Hiring

The Bear Educational Theatre is looking for new Teacher/ Actors for the next school year.

The Bear Educational Theatre plays educational English-teaching theatre shows for students in schools around the Czech Republic and Europe. The theatre has an excellent reputation in educational circles, the shows are fun to play and generally very successful and well-received by the students.

The shows require openess and communication as much as acting per se so everybody is welcome to apply. Czech speakers especially welcome. Pay – 600 Kc per show in or around Prague, 750 Kc outside Prague, 1200Kc in richer Western countries.

Usually two shows per day on playing days.  This is a paid part-time position, but remember that it is a theatre and so a lot of time and commitment is involved. The real reward should come from the satisfaction of doing a worthwhile job from shows well-played.

Theatre website is www.bearproject.cz
For more info please contact David Fisher  thebeareducationaltheatre@yahoo.co.uk or phone 777 134 272.
