The Prague Playhouse Lending Library will be an online service to join up lenders and borrowers of English language (I guess it could be other languages too, but mostly English) plays and books on theater. Lenders, who have plays sitting around their flats, can log into pragueplayhouse.com and add their plays to the library. Borrowers, who are looking for books and plays on theater that are way too hard to find here, can then search the database for what’s available and request a play or book directly from the lender (probably the borrower will click a link and an email will be sent to the lender notifying them of a request). The lender can then determine whether they are interested in lending the requested book to the borrower (we’ll keep stats and comments on borrowers with whether they return books on time, late, in bad shape so that people aren’t abusing the system).
We will also have a “looking for” section and links to online retailers (as well as local bookstores) for books that aren’t yet in the system.
