I am very pleased to announce that tickets are now available for our upcoming production of David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross”. This modern classic will show for 6 performances only starting January 29 and running until February 7. The cast is absolutely stellar and the dialog is from the master of the craft. This is one production you do not want to miss.
Glengarry Glen Ross plays will play at Divaldo Inspirace (Malostranske nam. 13, P1) at 19:30. You can reserve tickets by calling/smsing 775 36 10 10 or by emailing tickets@pragueplayhouse.com. Divaldo Inspirace has tentatively agreed to the dates for the upcoming production of Glengarry Glen Ross: January 29, 30 and 31 and February 4, 5 and 6 all at 19:30. This is a welcome agreement for the Playhouse as it’s generally difficult to book consecutive dates in Czech theaters. Czech theaters are almost universally run in rep (rotating on a daily basis through a stable of productions) which means that their space availability takes on the quality of Swiss cheese: little holes here and there.
Divadlo Inspirace, which has been heavily used as a Prague Fringe venue, is a well equiped basement theater attached to the Czech Opera Academy HAMU. It seats about 65 and is located on Malostranske namesti. They do not have a box office, but tickets will be on sale through the website as well as in familiar locations throughout the city. We should have a contract in hand by next the end of next week.

I just wanted to post a quick note to thank all those that came out to audition for Glengarry Glen Ross last night. I thought the process was very organic and I saw some very good choices. It’s going to be tough to narrow it down! I still have some people to see so I won’t make a final cast announcement until the weekend. I would encourage everyone who wants to be involved in the play to step into a production role (there’s still plenty to do even if you aren’t in the cast!). If you or someone you love is interested in auditioning for the upcoming Prague Playhouse production of David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross”, you should get in touch with me via email.
The details so far:
– Please notify me if you are planning on auditioning.
– Auditions will be at L’espace (please see http://pragueplayhouse.com/meisner-acting-class/getting-to-the-space/ for details on how to get to the audition) at 20:00 on Wednesday November 19.
– There will be 4 – 6 performances between Jan 15 and Feb 1, 2009.
– Actors should be fluent in English but non-American accents are fine.

– I will provide sides to those that want them. They should be available at some point over the weekend.
– There is NO PAY for acting in this play. This is community theater, folks. We’re all in this for the love of it.
